What happens on an animal photoshoot? - Sandy Kitching

Anything can happen!

I will tailor your session to meet the needs of your animal or animals and what they really enjoy doing. The animals always come first and I want them to have as much fun as you do.

Location of the animal photoshoot

I live near Cartmel in the Lake District National Park, which boasts an endless supply of fantastic locations - from rolling fells and grassy fields, to ancient leafy woodlands and craggy mountains.

The Lake District also boasts more than its fair share of lakes, waterfalls, rivers and seaside locations - all providing magnificent backdrops and playgrounds.

I can help choose the right location for the photo shoot, or you may already have a favourite place in mind. You could choose a leafy woodland or on the open fells, or if your dogs love water we could take them to the beach, a lake or a small river. You are very welcome to bring other family members along to watch.

I am happy to travel anywhere in the world for an animal photoshoot, for an agreed price!

The Photoshoot

I like to spend a bit of time getting to know you and your pets first so that everyone is relaxed.

A few ideas for photos

It’s always best to do portraits before any exertion and before the dogs or horse get too wet or muddy!

I can take intimate portraits of you with your pet whether it is a cat, dog, horse, tortoise, chicken or any other animal or bird!

You and your pets in a group shot is always a challenge!

We can have fun and games running, fetching their favourite toys, jumping over logs, action shots in water or maybe cantering along a beach.

Weather Conditions

If there’s an odd shower, we can usually work around it, but if it’s absolutely pouring down we may have to postpone the shoot.

I recommend that you book a morning session so if it is raining, the likelihood is it will brighten up later.

If rain or storms really do stops play, I would not charge and we could rearrange the shoot for another date.
