Mountain Rescue Search Dogs

Giving something back

I give my time and photographs for free to help a number of animal charities in Cumbria. If I can help animals in need through my photos, I consider it a great honour.

The Friesian Experience

This brand new charity has been established by Tracey Alexander to help take on abandoned Friesian horses and give their lives meaning and a purpose. The charity will also provide medical and other support to the Friesians that need nurturing and caring for.

More information will be made available soon about this charity, which will not only look after Friesians in need, but also provide opportunities for people suffering from illness to have therapy sessions with these extremely empathetic equines.

Langdale & Ambleside Mountain Rescue Search Dogs

I have photographed these beautiful intelligent dogs on training exercises in the Langdales and I will be photographing charity and safety on the fells awareness raising events during 2015. Visit:

Animal Rescue Cumbria

I make regular visits to photograph dogs and cats in need of new homes at Kapellan, the animal refuge near Kendal, which was supported by the great fell walker Alfred Wainwright. Visit:

The Animal Refuge

This amazing rescue centre at Wetherall near Penrith has a menagerie of horses, goats, dogs, cats, rabbits and other lovely souls in need of homes including Scratchy the tame crow! I photographed some of the animals for the Rescue Me project in 2014 and ended up coming home with two cats, Cecil & Roger, who are really chilled and happy in our rural home. You will see photos of their balletic antic on this website!
